- Understand what can and cannot be done with cast-in-place concrete
- Get enough money in the budget to achieve the quality you want
- Get enough time in the schedule to achieve the quality you want
- Insist on collaboration between the Concrete Contractor and the Architect
- Do not accept value engineering that results in quality you cannot accept
- Preplan. Preplan. Preplan.
- Do a mockup of the most challenging condition with the same materials and process that will be used for the actual work
- Create and enforce a detailed installation checklist.
- Commit to a relationship of trust between the Owner, Consultants, Contractor, and Subcontractor.
