Twitter is like a breath of fresh air on the Social Media scene. I have been on it for just a few weeks now and I have met several interesting people. It is a platform to network with people you would like to meet in real life.

To the point and talking from experience.
This is a very attractive proposition to the executive levels of companies. However, not to your sales force, which I might add push product, services and create notes (invoices).

A company has legal rep. and a professional finance dept to ensure payment on note/invoices created.

To put this on your sales force is VERY de-motivating and counter productive.

A sales professional will pre-qualify clients prior to closing a sale.

A plug written for the executive levels without a doubt.

You are absolutely right, Alex. And it was my mistake for not elaborating more. But a lot depends on your definition and practice of Email Marketing.

Here at Boomerang we spend a lot of our time working with our clients to help them to send better, more informative, and, ultimately, more useful email messages. Your contacts in LinkedIn might not appreciate a promotion for your company, but they would appreciate some of your expertise.

We continue to see very positive responses for our clients who send out email to their contacts that is much more informative than promotional.

Of course, you might also want to edit your linkedin contact list and weed out the people who would not appreciate your messages. In my experience, however, if you are not willing to send out your message to the people who you connect with, maybe you should rethink the message.

Is this really the best thing to promote?

Because someone is a LinkedIn contact, that means they wanted to receive marketing emails from every connection on LinkedIn?

Having an internet business, I find it strategic to use email as my marketing strategy especially now that some email services gives you the option to be notified through text messages of any new emails in your inbox.
