Email Marketing News and Tips

The easiest way to grow your email marketing list is to have sign-up forms EVERYWHERE.  A good place to start is your blog.  If people are interested enough to read your blog, they are interested in what you have to say.  They are the best candidates to send additional information to in the future.  If you have a “Sign up for our email/newsletters/promotions” at the top of your blog, you can easily grow your email marketing list with people you WANT to market to.

If you don’t know how to create your own opt-in form, you can create one through Boomerang for free.

• Just sign up for a free trial account
• Click on Opt-In Forms
• Follow instructions to create your personalized form
• Copy the HTML that’s created

Once you have the HTML of the opt-in form, add the widget to your blog interface.  We use WordPress, so I’ll show you how to add it for this format.

• Log in to your Site Admin for your blog
• Click on Design
• Click on Widgets
• Click Add for a Text Widget
• Under Current Widgets, click to Edit the new Text widget (added to the bottom of the list)
• Paste the HTML from the Opt-In Form Creator, click Change
• You can drag the new Text widget to place the widget where you’d like on your blog sidebar

If you are using a Boomerang Opt-In Form, the new leads will be captured in a list that you named during form setup.
