Marketing in the New Year
It’s January and yet another year is upon us. However, let’s not leave 2009 behind us just yet. While many of us would like to move forward, there are many key points that still hold merit in the new year.
Economy - Things continue to look up, but the fact is, the public is still not comfortable with where the economy is. There’s still an element of danger, we’re still fearful of the unknown and we’re still closely watching our money.
What does this mean when it comes to your marketing campaign? People are looking for a bargain!
Just as you and I try to make our dollar go further, so are your consumers. People want to feel that they are getting more than their money’s worth.
Provide your customers with a perceived notion of significant value and your product will stand out amongst the rest.
Budget - Has your marketing budget gone up significantly this year? For most of us, the answer is “no.” So we’ve got to continue with the lessons we’ve learned the past few years and closely monitor how our marketing efforts are performing.
With only so much to go around, we want to make sure that the money we spend is money well spent.
You’ve undoubtedly already taken a look at last year’s marketing efforts. Where did things go well for you, where did things go not so well? Now’s the time to start thinking if we want to give these channels another try or if we want to go another route altogether.
Be cautious, but be optimistic. It’s the start of a new year and we can all start off with a clean slate.
Here’s to a happy new year and a prosperous 2010!
