Email Marketing Subject Line Testing…Do You Test?

April 14th, 2009 · 1 Comment | Print Post Print Post

The subject line is the first thing your reader sees when they receive your email.  It’s also weighted heavily when checked for a Spam score and helps determine whether the email ever makes it to the actual inbox.  So, are you testing the success of your subject lines in each email campaign you send out?

Our A/B Testing feature allows you to test out as many subjects as you’d like, as long as the percentage totals 100%.  The new subject lines are added to your existing email campaigns randomly based on percentage given to each particular subject.  I know I use this feature when sending out email on behalf of Boomerang.  I’m always testing to see what works the best.

Results are available per subject line once the email is finished.  With the grid results, you can easily see how each subject did in relation to the other.
