Email is the most cost effective way to reach your customers
We are all working as hard as we can these days to market to our customers and prospects. The trick is to spend each dollar as effectively and efficiently as we can. There are passive ways to market and active ways to talk to your customers. The fact is that email marketing is still the most cost-effective, measurably superior method of reaching your customers.
Active vs Passive Marketing
Passive? What I mean when I talk about passive marketing is placing some content someplace and hoping that someone comes along and sees it. Your web page is a prime example of this. Post something interesting there and the only people who will visit it are people browsing the web or that you are driving there by some other means. Other examples would be television advertising or billboards. They are passive because you are placing the message out there and hoping someone sees it.
Active marketing what you do when you send something to an audience. This would include direct mail and email marketing. You have a specific audience and you generate a message that gets delivered directly to that person.
Most good marketing programs trying to drive people to some end should have both passive and active components to them.
But if you want your message to reach your audience and you want the least expensive method that directly hits the most number of people, email marketing cannot be beat.
