Getting More for What You Know with Audio Conferences
It’s an age-old problem: How do you maximize your income for your knowledge. Most entrepreneurs work hard at that every day. We turn our knowledge and understanding into products and services that we try to sell as best we can. If these don’t sell we try manipulating and massaging them until they do.
But there are other ways to monetize your knowledge. Most likely your customers could use what you know. They are purchasing what you are selling presumably because what you are selling helps them out in some way. But the things you learned from your other customers (and your hard knocks) could help your customers and prospects in other ways. You have information that you cannot include in your products and services that people would be willing to pay for.
A number of our customers are turning their additional expertise into extra income through voice and web conferences.
The process goes like this:
- Pick a set of topics your customers would most like to hear about. These may be either topics that are either directly or indirectly associated with your line of business. The important thing is that they are useful topics for some portion of your customers.
- Select a set of expert panelists. This can be your own people, but it is better to pick people outside your organization. Otherwise the whole thing could be seen as a sales pitch.
- Select your targeted lists of email addresses. The bulk of these will come from your own customers and prospects. But there are a number of groups that might have supplemental lists of interested parties. Associations and partner companies can be a great source fo borrowing lists. This is a touchy topic but we have lots of experience here so ask us if you are curious.
- Set prices and a date and market the conference. We’ve seen successful conferences charging between $149 and $349 per person.
The process is fairly straightforward and the results can be very surprising. People are aching for information these days on how to navigate this crazy economy. And your expertise or, more importantly, your ability to organize the expertise can add value to your customers that they are willing to pay for.
If this is daunting, Boomerang has provided these conference planning and organization services many times for many customers. Check us out at Boomerang’s Audio Conference Services
